Over first term in Congress, Axne has worked through flood, pandemic, and economic turmoil to deliver for Iowa
In her final ad in the 2020 election cycle, Cindy Axne is highlighting her record of fighting for Iowa’s families, businesses, and the communities of Iowa’s Third Congressional District throughout multiple local and national crises.
Over the past 22 months, central and southwest Iowa have faced historic flooding, the worst public health crisis in a generation, trade war and agricultural demand destruction, the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, and economic hardships as result of all these crises.
Through these hard times, Cindy Axne has fought every single day to help Iowans:
After personally lending a hand to those affected by the flooding along the Missouri River, Cindy Axne fought to ensure funding for Iowa flood recovery was included in the 2019 federal disaster relief bill.
When the coronavirus pandemic came to Iowa, Cindy Axne delivered economic aid to help the impacted – including stimulus checks for Iowa individuals and their dependents, enhanced unemployment benefits for Iowans still out of work, and protections for families at risk of losing their homes.
And when congressional leaders tried to cut aid for farmers in the midst of demand devastation caused by a trade war, Cindy Axne stood up to members of her own party to put Iowa’s family farmers first – and she got the funding restored.
“Iowa has faced incredible challenges over the past two years, ranging from natural disasters to a global pandemic, but throughout it all, the communities of central and southwest Iowa had Cindy Axne fighting for them. As we enter the final week of voting in this election, Iowans will remember that Cindy has stood up for them in these tough times and that she will continue to fight for aid to help those still in need,” said Ian Mariani, spokesperson for Cindy Axne for Congress.
The new ad is running in both the Des Moines and Omaha media markets.
