Iowans Share Their Health Care Stories in New Cindy Axne Video Series
‘Healthcare Stories of Central and Southwest Iowa’ launches on Cindy Axne for Congress channels today
Iowans from across Iowa’s Third Congressional District are sharing their health care stories through a new video series launched by the Cindy Axne for Congress campaign today.
Healthcare Stories of Central and Southwest Iowa features Iowans describing how essential health care protections for pre-existing condition are for their health care coverage, and why having a representative in Congress that defends those protections is important to them.
“I know the frustration and anxiety Iowa’s families face when it comes to keeping their health care. I remember the sense of defeat that I felt when I found out I was dropped from previous coverage or when I had to sell family items on eBay just to cover my medical bills. I appreciate these Iowans for sharing their stories with me – their words confirm just how important it is to protect access to their care and expand affordable, quality coverage for all Iowans,” said Cindy Axne.
Highlights from the series:
“I have a number of pre-existing conditions – my wife does … We all need to have access to our health care,” said Bob M.
“I have a preexisting condition, I have Crohn’s disease,” said Mike W. “One of things that Mr. [David] Young will do…will be to eliminate people’s benefits…I don’t care what he promises right now, people like me are going to get cut out.”
“I’m a disabled Iowan…I trust Cindy to continue to fight, especially in regards to health care. Cindy Axne is taking the pandemic seriously and is working to pass bills to help Iowa’s most vulnerable,” said Hannah S.
“Cindy has earned our trust – and we know she will continue to protect our son’s right to have access to the care he requires,” said Paula C.
