DAVID YOUNG LIES ABOUT HIS RECORD IN NEW TV AD
~ A desperate Young lies about his record of repeatedly voting to take away protections for pre-existing conditions ~
Des Moines, IA – Republican incumbent David Young (IA-03) released a new tv ad that lies about his record of voting to take away protections for Iowans with pre-existing conditions. In the ad, a narrator claims, “David stood up to his party to protect Iowans with disabilities and pre-existing conditions. David gets it, he keeps promises.”
The reality is, David Young has voted in line with Speaker Paul Ryan 94% of the time. In 2015, David Young voted to remove all protections for pre-existing conditions. In 2017, David Young turned his back on Iowans when he voted for the disastrous Republican healthcare bill after promising not to support the legislation.
“David Young has voted in line with Speaker Paul Ryan 94% of the time. He voted for a full repeal of protections for pre-existing conditions in 2015. In 2017, he voted to allow insurance companies to charge Iowans with pre-existing conditions exorbitant premiums. Which one of those times was David Young ‘standing up to his party’?” asked Cindy Axne spokesperson Madeleine Russak. “A TV commercial and a meaningless Resolution won’t erase David Young’s record of repeatedly voting to take away critical protections for people with pre-existing conditions.”
The Cindy Axne for Congress campaign released the following digital video to set the record straight on David Young’s history of voting with insurance companies in Washington to gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions and to strip away healthcare for millions of Americans.
