NEW POLL: AXNE CONTINUES TO LEAD IOWA 3RD DISTRICT RACE
~ Additionally, non-partisan political analysts, Inside Elections, moves Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District race from ‘Lean-Republican’ to ‘Toss-Up’ ~
Des Moines, IA – Today, the Cindy Axne for Congress campaign announced a new poll conducted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) showing that Axne continues to lead in Iowa’s 3rd District. The poll, conducted early September, shows Cindy Axne leading Congressman David Young by 3 points (46% to 43%, with 11% undecided), with strong support from women and registered Republicans. The results of the poll are available here.
“Over these next two months, we’re going to work harder than ever, shaking as many hands and knocking on as many doors as possible to earn every single vote. What we’ve seen over the last 15 months is that anyone who meets Cindy, wants to vote for Cindy,” said Joe Diver, Campaign Manager for Cindy Axne for Congress. “We’ve also seen that across the board, Iowans are fed up with partisan politics and Washington dysfunction. When voters meet Cindy, they see a fearless Mom, a savvy small business owner, a dedicated public servant and a passionate community leader. But mostly, they see someone who will take on the tough fights in Washington to deliver results for hard-working Iowan families.”
Inside Elections joins leading political analysts including Sabato’s Crystal Ball, CNN and the Cook Political Report in upgrading this race to Toss-Up. Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight has reassigned this race as Lean-Democrat.
