With years of exposure and work in state government, Cindy Axne is using that experience as part of her push to be elected to the Third Congressional seat of Iowa.
“I have a background in public service and I want to help people,” she said during a campaign stop Monday, Jan. 29, in Clarinda. “After I worked the 2016 presidential election, I took a 7 mile walk. I came back and realized that I haven’t done enough. What can I do? What can I do to be more engaged?”
Republican David Young is who is in Iowa’s Third Congressional seat now.
Axne, a Democrat candidate, was an employee of the state of Iowa starting with the second term of Gov. Tom Vilsack.
“I was part of the department of administrative services where you oversee leadership development and training for the state,” she said.
Her other experience included the Department of Management which included operational performance and budgeting. Her work continued through Gov. Culver and when Branstad returned to the office.View official article at Clarinda Herald-Journal
